Dakini: Goddesses’ Story – Defeating the Demon

Since the lion-faced demoness was undermining faith in Buddhist teachings, the Buddha in whose world she lived took action. The Buddha of the western regions of the cosmos, his name is Amitabha (Amitayus), and it means literally “infinite light.”

Since the demoness had been born invincible, Amitabha enlisted the aid of the other peaceful Buddhas of the directions to stop her. Together they devised a strategy to defeat the lion-headed demoness.
